Bedfordshire Studio Garden
Designed for a young Bedfordshire family, this garden creates a seamless connection between home life and working life. At its heart sits a beautifully crafted cedar-clad garden studio, positioned to feel integrated with the house rather than remote from it. The client works from home frequently but wanted a dedicated workspace that avoided the sense of isolation often associated with standalone offices.
A wide, sculptural flight of steps leads up to the studio, forming a strong architectural feature within the garden. These generous, linear terraces draw the eye upward and establish a purposeful journey towards the workspace, while offering places to pause, sit, and observe family life unfolding below.
Soft, textural planting frames the structured stonework, bringing movement and seasonality without distracting from the clean, contemporary lines. This blend of natural softness and crisp geometry creates a garden that feels both calming and energising—a space where work and family can coexist harmoniously.
The Bedfordshire Studio Garden is a balanced, modern landscape that supports productivity, connection, and a strong sense of belonging.
